Katherine Lyall-Watson in Biloela

Belloo is partnering with Matt Scholten and If Theatre on Haven, a verbatim theatre piece on the Biloela community's fight to bring the Nadesalingam family home to Bilo. The community invited co-writers, Matt and Katherine, to Biloela for the joyous homecoming of Priya, Nades, Kopika and Tharnicaa.

Matt and Katherine travelled to Biloela in June 2022 for the welcome home celebrations and to do follow up interviews with the key campaign members.

’Haven’ is supported by Brisbane City Council Creative Sparks program. The Creative Sparks Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council to support local arts and culture in Brisbane. Katherine and Matt were also supported by the Australian Plays Transform Duologue Program.
